About the Role

SANY is hiring a Math Teacher (Grade 6) for the Utica Academy of Science Charter School Junior-Senior High School (JSHS) for the 2026/27 School Year. We are seeking dynamic, collaborative, flexible, and engaging educators with a strong belief in student success.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging lesson plans that conform to the charter's curriculum.
• Collaborate with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Prepare students for standardized tests relevant to the content area.
• Utilize analytics and data to drive instruction and promote learning.
• Welcome regular feedback, accountability, and rewards for serving students and communities.
• Demonstrate great classroom management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• NYS certification required.
• Experience with a diverse population of students or in an urban setting is a plus.
• Prior teaching experience is preferred.
• Novice teachers are encouraged to apply.
• Fingerprint clearance through the NYS Department of Education.
