About the Role
The Childcare Counselor is responsible for the direct supervision and monitoring of youth in a non-secure setting, ensuring their safety and security. This role involves transporting residents to various appointments and activities.
Responsibilities
- Ensure children are provided with a clean and safe environment.
- Transport residents to activities.
- Monitor residents throughout the shift, ensuring they are always in sight.
- Inform the Residence Manager of any problems.
- Solve crisis situations in a therapeutic manner.
- Complete Safety Crisis Management training satisfactorily.
- Manage the transportation of youth to and from court and all other destinations.
- Attend monthly staff meetings and yearly trainings.
- Prepare regular written reports, including Logs and Critical Incident Reports.
- Perform all necessary activities assigned to further the agency’s mission.
Requirements
- Must be able to use a computer and learn software programs.
- Must be able to operate a fax, copier, scan, and other office equipment.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write fluently in the English language.
- Must be able to write in the English language using correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- May frequently lift 0-25 lbs.
- May occasionally lift 25-50 lbs.
- May rarely lift over 50 lbs.
- May frequently push/pull 0-25 lbs. of force.
- May occasionally push/pull 26-45 lbs. force.
- May rarely push/pull over 45 lbs. force.
- May sit 50-60% of the working day.
- May stand 10-20% of the working day.
- May walk 10-20% of the working day.
- May occasionally stoop.
- May occasionally kneel.
- May occasionally crouch.
- High School Diploma.
- 3 years' relevant experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
