About the Role

Lead the overall management of Plant Operations & Maintenance Departments within a hospital campus environment, planning, prioritizing, and controlling functions and activities under the scope of the contract.

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate existing programs, services, policies, and procedures.
  • Meet with hospital client and staff to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and communicate programs and policies.
  • Supervise the flow and quality of work to ensure workload completion and consistency with facility standards.
  • Prepare and lead departmental budgets, including utilities and energy savings programs.
  • Handle and ensure compliance with Joint Commission, State Health Department, EPA, DEP, ADA, UST, and other regulatory business appointments.
  • Supervise work performance and prepare/review performance evaluations for assigned personnel.
  • Guide employees on facility personnel and employee relations programs and answer questions.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise the construction and development of physical facilities.
  • Review, evaluate, and recommend approval of construction plans.
  • Serve as a liaison with contractors, architects, engineers, and material and equipment suppliers.

Requirements

  • 2 years of responsibility at a Director Level OR 5 years of responsibility at a Director Level in Engineering, Maintenance, and Construction in a healthcare institution with related continuous education courses.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and transmit complicated detailed instructions orally and in writing.
  • Previous Facilities Management experience in an acute care hospital required.
  • Ability to meet established goals and objectives.
  • Must have knowledge and expertise in NFPA, TJC, CMS, DNV, EPA, and OSHA codes and regulations and the ability to interpret and implement them.
