About the Role

eBay is seeking an experienced product leader to drive the international growth of eBay Balance, a stored-value wallet product. This role involves defining how eBay Balance serves customers in non-U.S. markets, focusing on building experiences for fund reception, value holding, reloading, and spending on eBay. It's an end-to-end product ownership opportunity, shaping strategy, launching capabilities, and creating an adoption flywheel within the payments, commerce, and financial services space.

Responsibilities

  • Own the international product strategy and roadmap for eBay Balance across Canada, Australia, Europe, and additional non-U.S. markets.
  • Identify valuable regional customer problems and determine where eBay Balance can create differentiated value for buyers and sellers.
  • Design and improve the complete stored-value lifecycle, including fund reception, reloading, balance management, and spending on the eBay platform.
  • Develop new product features, incentives, and customer experiences to increase activation, adoption, repeat usage, and spend.
  • Build a market expansion framework balancing customer demand, business opportunity, regulatory requirements, operational readiness, and platform scalability.
  • Lead products from discovery through launch and optimization, bringing structure and momentum to complex, ambiguous initiatives.
  • Use customer research, behavioral data, financial analysis, and experimentation to identify friction, validate opportunities, and make high-quality product decisions.
  • Define and own success metrics such as activation, funded accounts, reload behavior, balance retention, repeat usage, spend-through, and incremental business impact.
  • Partner closely with the product leader responsible for U.S. eBay Balance to build shared platform capabilities while addressing market-specific customer and regulatory needs.
  • Align and influence stakeholders across engineering, design, analytics, business, payments, operations, finance, risk, legal, and compliance.
  • Communicate strategy, priorities, tradeoffs, and business results clearly to senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
  • Establish repeatable capabilities for efficient expansion into additional markets.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of product management experience, with meaningful experience in payments, digital wallets, stored-value products, fintech, financial services, or commerce.
  • A track record of shipping and scaling complex customer-facing products across multiple teams or markets.
  • Solid understanding of payment flows, funding methods, money movement, wallet experiences, or account-based financial products.
  • Demonstrated success driving product adoption, engagement, retention, or transaction growth.
  • Experience translating ambiguous business opportunities into a clear strategy, prioritized roadmap, and executable product plan.
  • Strong analytical judgment and the ability to use customer insights, experimentation, and data to make decisions.
  • Experience influencing engineering, design, analytics, business, risk, compliance, and operational partners without relying on direct authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to simplify complex topics and make clear recommendations to senior executives.
  • High ownership, urgency, and resilience.
  • A global approach and an appreciation for how customer behavior, regulation, payment infrastructure, and business models differ across markets.
