About the Role
PIX11 is seeking a full-time news producer for a fast-paced AM newscast. The ideal candidate will excel at showcasing editorial vision and tease writing, with a natural ability to multitask in a high-stress environment and meet multiple deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Story placement
- Tease writing
- Reacting to breaking news
- Timing out the broadcast
- Producing newscasts for broadcast across all platforms
- Writing and ordering news stories
- Approving scripts
- Balancing news and feature content to create compelling broadcasts
- Editing video
- Writing stories for the website and other eMedia platforms
- Interacting with viewers and users on social media sites
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Minimum three years’ experience Line Producing (Depending on market size)
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work any shift
