About the Role
Perdue Brandon is seeking a highly motivated attorney whose goal is partnership. We offer a team environment where associates work closely with partners, colleagues, staff and clients on a daily basis. Associates are involved with all phases of valuation litigation on behalf of appraisal district clients.
Responsibilities
- Review legal documents such as pleadings, notices, and judgments
- Prepare for and attend court appearances
- Work closely with staff on litigation activities
- Draft discovery requests and responses
- Calendar and monitor all deadlines on cases
- Research and analyze legal issues
- Advise clients on tax matters
- Communicate with taxpayers and attorneys
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients
- Participate in marketing and networking activities
- Attend occasional evening and weekend events including statewide conferences
- Draft memorandum for the firm and for clients
- Ability to keep track of billable hours
- Manage a large caseload
- Identify and analyze complex issues
- Provide research that is thorough and responsive to issue at hand
- Write in an organized, clear and concise manner
- Work in a supervisory position
