About the Role

Liberty Resources is seeking passionate and motivated Part Time Residential Specialists to work in our Cayuga Crisis Residence Program. These community-based residential programs provide a therapeutic environment for adults experiencing a mental health crisis, utilizing Peer Support Services and Crisis Support Staff to help guests stabilize and return to their communities.

Responsibilities

• Teach individuals to view crisis differently and utilize wellness tools for prevention or de-escalation.
• Collaborate with Health Homes, hospitals, and treatment providers to create integrated care plans.
• Provide advocacy, supportive counseling, and referral/linkage services.
• Deliver recovery-oriented services using Need Adapted Treatment and Motivational Interviewing.
• Provide program coverage, including required overnights.
• Complete all required documentation in a timely manner.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and 1-3 years of relevant experience working with individuals with Mental Health or Chemical Dependency disorders, or a Bachelor's Degree.
• Student or intern within a DOH-approved NYS education department program, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Counselor (CASAC) also qualify.
• Work experience in a behavioral health or related setting preferred, preferably using the recovery model.
• Respect for and comfort with individuals experiencing psychiatric crisis.
• Ability to use critical thinking, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills.
