About the Role

Liberty Resources is seeking passionate and motivated Per Diem Residential Specialists for its Cayuga Crisis Residence Program. This program offers a therapeutic environment for adults experiencing a mental health crisis, utilizing peer support and experienced crisis staff to help guests stabilize and safely return to their communities. The goal is to prevent unnecessary emergency department visits and hospitalizations.

Responsibilities

Teach individuals to view crisis differently and use wellness tools to prevent or decrease crisis intensity.
Collaborate with Health Homes, hospitals, and treatment providers to create integrated care plans.
Provide advocacy, supportive counseling, and referral/linkage services.
Deliver recovery-oriented services using Need Adapted Treatment and Motivational Interviewing.
Provide program coverage, including overnights as required.
Complete all required documentation in accordance with program standards.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and 1-3 years of relevant experience with individuals with Mental Health or Chemical Dependency disorders, OR a Bachelor's Degree.
Students or interns in a DOH-approved NYS education program, Licensed Practical Nurses, or Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Counselors (CASAC) also qualify.
Work experience in a behavioral health or related setting preferred, preferably using the recovery model.
Respect for and comfort with individuals experiencing psychiatric crisis.
Ability to use critical thinking, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills to promote recovery.
