About the Role

The Family Support Navigator will partner with families and individuals impacted by substance use disorders. This role involves providing education on addiction, accessing treatment services, and assisting with linkages to care.

Responsibilities

• Engage and partner with individuals utilizing heroin, opiates, and other substances, linking them to substance use disorder supportive and recovery-oriented services within Monroe County.
• Engage and partner with family members of individuals utilizing heroin, opiates, and other substances, providing education and assistance with accessing services.
• Be readily available to individuals and families, ensuring appropriate services are available at the most critical time.
• Navigate the Monroe County service delivery system and advocate for the immediate needs of individuals being served.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in human services.
• At least two years of work experience in the field of human services.
• Must be able to work independently and with flexibility in days and hours of work.

Skills

• Ability to apply technical and professional knowledge to daily practice.
• Demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and understanding of issues affecting individuals and families in the OASAS system.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literacy.
• Perform well in a team approach.
• Ability to solve complex problems using creative solutions.
• Act consistently in a manner that demonstrates dignity and respect to individuals and families.
• Ability to understand, support, and operate from a strength-based approach.
