About the Role
Facilitate group therapy sessions for individuals struggling with substance use disorders, providing education, support, and guidance to help clients develop coping strategies and work toward recovery. This role involves working closely with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote a supportive and structured treatment environment.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate group counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery, relapse prevention, coping skills, and mental health.
- Monitor client interaction and behaviors, acting as a role model.
- Write group and individual progress notes to document interactions and services completed.
- Contribute to the upkeep and cleanliness of the residence.
- Complete all required documentation in a timely manner according to program standards.
- Provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for clients.
- Educate clients about substance use disorders, mental health, and healthy coping mechanisms.
- Monitor clients’ progress, behavior, and engagement in group therapy.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client progress and participation.
- Recognize and respond to crisis situations appropriately, including referrals for higher levels of care if necessary.
- Stay updated on best practices in substance abuse treatment and incorporate new methods into counseling sessions.
Requirements
- HS Diploma required.
- Ability to handle emotionally charged situations with professionalism and empathy.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Knowledge of addiction treatment models, relapse prevention strategies, and mental health disorders.
- Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and structured group environment.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and documentation requirements.

- $25.00-$27.00 per hour
