About the Role

The Vice President of Fund Accounting will provide high-level guidance on fund accounting concepts, oversee team operations to ensure quality and client satisfaction, and partner with Business Development on client pricing and new business efforts. This role involves driving technical training initiatives, managing employee relations, and identifying best practices across operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong global relationships with Executive, HR, Recruitment, and Finance teams.
  • Manage fund team operations to ensure high work quality and client satisfaction.
  • Assist in business development and marketing efforts, including conferences and meetings.
  • Oversee company-wide technical training initiatives.
  • Partner with Business Development on pricing for existing and new contracts.
  • Advise on high-level fund accounting concepts, including complex waterfall structures.
  • Perform high-level client check-ins to ensure satisfaction.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations, staffing, and performance management.
  • Multi-task effectively between various tasks and internal demands.
  • Identify and implement 'Best Practices' across the operations team.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on prospective client calls.
  • Drive the implementation of new policies, procedures, technology, and initiatives.
  • Oversee the internally developed budget model, including capacity and gross profit.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and coaching to Senior Management and teams.
  • Handle complicated employee relations issues related to compensation, performance management, attrition, and retention.
  • Address complicated client issues and concerns.
  • Serve as a resource for Senior Management on technical questions and team processes.
  • Provide daily leadership across operational teams and the organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in PE, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of supervisory experience in performance management, training, talent acquisition, and retention.
  • Experience in forecasting and budgeting during accelerated growth periods.
  • Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, pay attention to detail, plan, and solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate and interact professionally and effectively, both written and orally, with clients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, methods, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Excellent client service skills with an aptitude for understanding client businesses.
  • Dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service.
  • Demonstrated networking ability with potential and/or current clients.
  • Ability to train and retain Senior Management.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Advanced computer and technical skills, including MS Office Suite and other financial systems.
  • Ability to effectively provide information, training, and assistance to team members.
  • Ability to understand and carry out moderately complex accounting procedures and analysis.
  • Preparation of work papers.
  • General knowledge of financial reporting.
  • Sound research, interpretive, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Investran or other partnership accounting software is a plus.

Experience Level

  • 10+ years relevant experience
  • 10+ years supervisory experience

Education Level

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Advanced degree (MBA or MSA) in Accounting or related field strongly preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license strongly preferred
