About the Role

The Finance Assistant reports to the Head of Finance & Operations and is responsible for a variety of financial and administrative tasks, including invoicing, data management, reconciliation, and IT support, within a leading British production company.

Responsibilities

  • Invoicing producer fees and reconciling with external accountants on participation statements.
  • Updating time-sensitive Excel worksheets for the Head of Finance.
  • Managing and capturing data for monthly recharges to various productions.
  • Collating backup documents (invoices, credit card statements) for invoicing.
  • Following up on outstanding invoices and reporting collection issues.
  • Managing the Finance Team's filing system for audit and HMRC requirements.
  • Managing the company’s petty cash account, including expenses and reconciliations.
  • Managing the group of companies’ credit cards, including receipt organization and reconciliations.
  • Dealing with ad hoc requests from the Head of Finance and assisting the Finance team with administrative tasks.
  • Resolving technical and IT problems by liaising with the company’s IT team.

Requirements

  • Degree educated or good A-level results, with strong results in Mathematics and/or Accountancy.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Confident and effective communicator at all levels.
  • Highly numerate with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Able to handle sensitive issues in a diplomatic and discrete manner.
  • Passionate for film and the film & media industry.
  • Familiar with Microsoft packages including Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting systems.
  • Required in the office 5 days a week.
  • External candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview.
