About the Role
The Clinical Supervisor Part-Time is responsible for providing supervision to emerging clinicians who require supervision to earn their clinical license. This role works directly under the supervision of the Director and Program Managers, providing scheduled supervision and occasional consultation. The supervisor also shares responsibility for communicating clinical themes with program administrators.
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision to emerging clinicians seeking clinical licensure.
- Apprise supervisor of the diagnosis and treatment of each client.
- Discuss applicant's cases.
- Provide oversight and guidance in diagnosing and treating clients.
- Regularly review and evaluate the professional work of the applicant.
- Provide consultation to administrators on the clinical impact of program policies and practices on clients and staff.
- Attend monthly Clinical Supervisor meetings with Program Director and Program Managers.
Requirements
- Must meet requirements in Education Law or the equivalent as determined by NY State prior to supervising.
- Supervision of applicants for LCSW must be provided by an LCSW licensed in New York State, a Psychologist licensed in NY State, or a Physician who was a diplomate in psychiatry of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. at the time of supervision.
- Supervisor may not have a familial relationship with the applicant.
Skills
- Ability to meet in person or via phone/teleconference for a minimum of one hour per week per supervisee during the school year (September 1st – June 30th).
