About the Role
Accuenergy is seeking an Application Specialist to join our fast-growing energy management company. This role involves leveraging AI tools to gather requirements, draft technical solutions, engage with customers, and contribute to internal knowledge bases. You will play a key part in optimizing energy usage for businesses and driving innovation in the energy sector.
Responsibilities
- Own requirements gathering for assigned opportunities using customer emails, RFQs, drawings, and specifications.
- Utilize AI to draft structured requirements, validate output, and fill gaps through customer conversations.
- Produce technical solutions using AI and the Application Matrix, validating AI output and owning the final recommendation.
- Co-lead and lead customer technical calls and reviews, using AI for preparation and recaps.
- Contribute ongoing entries to the Application Matrix and AE-facing knowledge base.
- Identify workflows for automation into the AE Agent and document submissions.
- Ensure CRM and opportunity record integrity with clean, validated entries.
- Surface product gap feedback to Product Management and partner with Engineering and Sales.
- Ensure Occupational Health and Safety compliance.
- Follow all Accuenergy (Canada) Inc standard policy and operation regulations.
- Undertake any other operation-related responsibilities as the company grows.
Requirements
- Possess technical fundamentals in electrical engineering, power systems, instrumentation, controls, or a comparable field, enabling productive technical conversations.
- Demonstrate proven ability to learn technical material quickly, with AI as an accelerant, if a deep technical background is not present.
- Exhibit daily, evidenced fluency with modern AI tools (Claude or equivalent) for technical drafting, requirements extraction, document review, and analysis.
- Be prepared to discuss specific examples of AI-leveraged work and complete a live AI-leveraged exercise.
- Show a demonstrable willingness to validate and challenge AI output rather than pass it through.
- Be comfortable with customer-facing interactions and leading technical conversations.
- Possess strong written communication skills for producing briefs, requirements sheets, and technical justifications.
- Be comfortable owning a quantified KPI scorecard and publishing on cadence.
- Exhibit a direct, decisive working style and comfort giving and receiving candid feedback.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or B2B technical product environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with power metering, energy management, building management, EV infrastructure, data centres, BESS, or related industrial domains is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales Hub, Salesforce, Zoho, or comparable) and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or comparable) is preferred.
- Prior contribution to AI / automation initiatives (workflow re-engineering, process automation, agent or RPA contribution) is preferred.
- Direct experience reading engineering drawings and specifications is preferred.
