About the Role
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing all procurement activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods, materials, and services. This role also involves maintaining the highest food safety and health standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the general cleanliness of the heart-of-house and the entire venue.
- Responsible for the scheduling, promoting, and team member development of the assigned department.
- Collaborates with Front of House (FOH) & Heart of House (HOH) to facilitate the ordering of all needed supplies.
- Oversees heart-of-house operations to ensure safety, quality, recipe accuracy, and financial profitability.
- Responsible for regulating the pars for all supplies for regular service, catering, take-out, delivery, and all in/off-venue events.
- Manages all deliveries and receiving procedures while following specifications of the purchase order.
- Responsible for overseeing stocking and rotation of all non-beverage-related deliveries.
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of operational systems, including inventory, purchasing, and receiving.
- Participates in reviewing the venue’s monthly GOGS (Cost of Goods Sold).
- Ensures Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
- Ensures that the venue is compliant with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and company policies.
- Coaches and develops heart-of-house team members by setting clear guidelines and expectations.
- Responsible for ensuring that all mechanical systems are in good working order and compliant with all federal, state, and local ordinances.
- Ensures all team members are compliant with all heart-of-house standards and procedures.
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of all food and beverage menus and the venue.
- Ensures the completion of all opening and closing procedures as prescribed by the company.
- Communicates clearly and concisely with all team members during service.
- Possesses practical knowledge of the job duties of all supervised team members.
- Responsible for overseeing the replacement or repair of all breakage and damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management.
- Attends and participates in any training sessions or departmental meetings.
- Learns by listening, observing other team members, and sharing knowledge while leading by example.
- Portrays a positive and professional attitude.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments.
- Works as part of a team and provides help and support to all fellow team members.
- Assists and/or completes additional tasks as assigned.
