About the Role

Hudson Valley Community College is seeking experienced, tech-savvy Multimedia Freelancers to support university events, academic conferences, commencement ceremonies, and hybrid campus presentations. This role requires deep technical expertise in computer skills and operation of audio and video equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setup, operation, and breakdown of AV equipment (Projectors, PA systems, speakers, amplifiers, mics, and related audio and video equipment).
• Operate graphics and presentation systems during live events.
• Manage video playback and ensure smooth media execution.
• Support video screen displays and troubleshoot basic technical issues.
• Collaborate with the production team to deliver seamless event presentations.
• Access and manage media assets stored in cloud-based storage platforms for live event playback and production.
• Independently troubleshoot hardware and software.

Requirements

• Must meet minimum qualifications.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
• Appointment contingent upon completion of a background check.
• Ability to operate various production, transmission, and multimedia equipment in diverse environments (television studio, theatre, auditorium, distance learning classroom, remote/live location).
• Experience with collaborative and design software (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with industry-standard streaming and video post-production software (Blackmagic Design live production switchers, VMix, OBS, VLC media Player).
• Experience with a variety of professional camera systems, including setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Audio mixing consoles is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills under tight live-event timelines.
• Ability to display and maintain a professional demeanor while working with high-profile clients.
• May involve lifting of heavy equipment (50lbs or more).

• Two years of training in multimedia production, corporate event audio and video or broadcast television production from an accredited institution

Salary/Compensations

• $35.00 per hour
