About the Role
Arms Acres in Carmel, New York is seeking a Fitness Counselor to oversee patient and staff engagement in the fitness aspects of substance abuse rehabilitation. This role involves managing the daily operations of the fitness program and maintaining equipment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise patients in all fitness activities and document observations and progress.
- Ensure department safety and risk management by addressing issues with appropriate staff.
- Instruct patients on wellness, relaxation techniques, nutritional planning, sober life choices, and individual fitness programs.
- Participate in the multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Maintain fitness equipment.
- Provide presentations on the fitness aspects of the rehabilitation process.
- Document fitness assessments, consultations, recommendations, and patient needs.
- Foster positive relationships with treatment team members, families, referents, and business resources.
- Actively participate in Milieu Management.
- Engage in Performance Improvement Initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Fitness or related field, or 3 years of related experience.
- LCAT or CASAC T preferred.
