About the Role

As an Inventory Controller in New York, you will manage and oversee accurate inventory tracking and control within transportation and warehousing operations. Your objective is to ensure precise, up-to-date inventory records and SOP compliance. You will collaborate with warehouse, trucking, client service teams, and management to optimize inventory flow, reduce discrepancies, and support efficient supply chain processes. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and resolving inventory issues, conducting audits, and implementing improvements.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate inventory records by performing regular cycle counts and full physical inventories.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between inventory records promptly.
Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to minimize loss, damage, and obsolescence.
Generate detailed inventory reports and provide insights to management for decision-making.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline inventory processes and improve overall efficiency.
Utilize inventory management software to track stock movements and update records in real-time.
Support audits and compliance activities related to inventory control and reporting.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience in inventory control, preferably within the transportation or warehousing industry.
Strong proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to analyze data and resolve discrepancies effectively.
Experience with warehouse management systems.
Knowledge of transportation and warehousing industry regulations and best practices.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external partners.
