About the Role

The Family Advocacy & Mentorship (FAM) Program supports youth (ages 0–21) and their caregivers through an integrated, strength-based model. The program provides tailored services such as rapid response, case management, mentorship, caregiver education, life skills development, and access to essential resources. The Youth Coach is a key member of the FAM Team who provides direct support, family visitation support, and mentorship to at-risk youth, working closely with them in their homes and communities to build strengths, reduce the risk of out-of-home placements, provide family coaching, and promote long-term stability.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one mentorship to youth in home, school, and community settings.
Identify youth strengths and interests to develop individualized, goal-oriented support plans.
Promote attachment to school, family, and community through consistent engagement and advocacy.
Provide information to case workers needed to connect youth and families to mental health services, substance use treatment, and vocational resources.
Mentor youth in developing independent living and life skills.
Help identify and strengthen natural support and community-based relationships.
Coach family and/or sibling visits according to the will of the county.

Requirements

Driver's Licensed with the ability to maintain insurance throughout employment required.

High School Diploma or GED required.
1+ year experience in child welfare, juvenile justice, community engagement, or related experience required.

Salary/Compensations

$19-21 an hour
