About the Role
As an early Engineering Manager at Unify GTM, you’ll shape the DNA of an early-stage, high-velocity engineering organization building with leading-edge AI. You’ll lead a core product pod, owning delivery, quality, and team health, and partner closely with product and design to bring bold ideas to life. You’ll also help set the foundation for scaling our culture, systems, and standards of technical and operational excellence. Responsibilities
- Lead a core product team: Manage, coach, and grow a group of high-performing engineers while keeping your finger on the pulse of technical work.
- Own delivery: Collaborate with product and design leads to scope and ship product initiatives that are customer-centered, fast, and reliable.
- Level up our systems: Continuously improve engineering processes from planning to observability to CI/CD to support rapid iteration and scale.
- Lead by example: Participate in code reviews, design conversations, and incident response to stay close to the craft.
- Build the team: Recruit, hire, and onboard top engineering talent as we grow the org 3x+ in the next 12 months.
- Shape culture: Foster a team environment grounded in ownership, speed, and empathy for each other and for our users.
Requirements
- Bring 6+ years of engineering experience, with 3+ years of engineering management in fast-moving environments.
- Have built and led teams at early-stage startups, shipping high-quality software under tight feedback loops.
- Be a strong technical leader who knows how to set a high bar and inspire others to reach it.
- Be at home in high-autonomy, high-accountability environments and energized by building from scratch.
- Have worn multiple hats and love the chaos of early stage: recruiting, writing code, running retros, debugging prod, or tweaking the roadmap.
- Care deeply about people and invest in helping others grow both technically and as teammates.
- Move fast, stay scrappy, and always prioritize impact.
- Familiarity with TypeScript, Prisma, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Pulsar, ClickHouse, Temporal, and LLMs is great, but ability to learn fast, lead with curiosity, and raise the bar is most important.
