About the Role

The Senior Blockchain Engineer will be a key member of the core team building the Citi Integrated Digital Assets Platform (CIDAP). This role requires a highly motivated and proactive hands-on software engineer with a focus on Java backend development and experience with production web applications. The ideal candidate is a self-driven, resourceful team player with a strong understanding of enterprise-grade web application backends, web3 infrastructure, blockchain technology, and digital assets.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with team members on the implementation approach of web applications leveraging blockchain technology.
Own and deliver functional scope end-to-end for applications leveraging blockchain technology, meeting quality standards.
Solve solution engineering challenges to meet stakeholder requirements and expectations.
Utilize best practices and design patterns for enterprise web applications.
Utilize best practices and design patterns for web3 applications.
Use collaborative tools to manage and deliver work in a distributed team.
Contribute to and maintain technical documentation for code and applications.
Act as a team player and communicate effectively within a distributed team.
Help resolve/escalate issues to ensure timely, on-budget, and high-quality project delivery.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering; MS or PhD in computer science, or related discipline is a plus.
Extensive experience in the full software development and testing lifecycle.
Experience from the financial services industry is a plus.
Proven experience and expertise with Backend web development using Java Spring.
Proven experience in web3 application development is a plus.
Solid experience and expertise developing web applications using asynchronous programming and communication.
Experience and expertise developing web applications adhering to best practices for reliability, scalability, and performance.
Familiarity with web3 libraries like Web3J and Web3JS is a plus.
Familiarity with common and best practices for web3 applications is a plus.
Familiarity with Solidity code and best practices is a plus.
Familiarity with basics of DevOps and containerizing applications is a plus.
Familiarity with Agile Methodology and Scrum is a plus.
