About the Role
The Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is the field-based scientific and clinical expert for current and future Johnson & Johnson Innovative products. This role serves as a strategic scientific partner, integrating data to inform medical engagement, patient care, and territory strategy. The MSL develops and enhances relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare providers, providing scientific information and education.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a scientific engagement plan for the territory aligned with Medical Affairs strategy.
- Engage in scientific exchange with KOLs and HCPs to understand perspectives and identify trends, unmet needs, and educational gaps.
- Cultivate strong professional relationships with community and academic HCPs/KOLs in the territory.
- Utilize insights and MSL tools to develop a strategic approach for customer engagements.
- Leverage AI tools and insights to enhance decision making, streamline processes, and improve efficiency.
- Identify provider educational needs and address them with tailored responses.
- Deliver relevant scientific data tailored to HCP needs through clear and effective dialogue and presentation.
- Collect and submit high-quality actionable insights aligned with strategic priorities.
- Provide point-of-contact support to investigators and internal partners for studies.
- Respond to unsolicited research/clinical inquiries promptly with scientifically sound information.
- Execute upon Medical Affairs strategy and MSL priorities, balancing short-term execution with long-term objectives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including MSL field partners, R&D, Medical Affairs teams, clinical operations, and Sales and Marketing.
- Demonstrate strong scientific acumen through self-study and engagement.
- Foster a culture of inclusion and belonging.
- Develop a thorough understanding of regulatory and health care compliance guidelines, corporate policies, and Medical Affairs SOPs.
- Develop and implement a performance and development plan with manager.
- Perform administrative requirements in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.
Requirements
- A Doctorate level degree or equivalent experience is required (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers, etc.).
- Post graduate experience is required for Doctoral level candidates, with preference for therapeutic clinical experience.
- 2+ years of relevant experience, including demonstrated success as an MSL.
- Ability to support a defined territory with up to 70% travel.
- Must hold a valid US Driver’s License.

Salary/Compensations
- $137,000.00 - $235,750.00
