About the Role
Provides oversight of RN/LPN/CNA and secretarial staff, assists in problem-solving clinical issues, and acts as a clinical resource person. Supports the nurse manager in developing work plans to achieve targets and provides superior customer service.
Responsibilities
- Oversees and assures short & long term Nursing Dept. staff schedules per established guidelines.
- Facilitates units in emergency medical assessment & care of residents, including interventions, transportation & other resources needed.
- Serves as a clinical resource person to staff in problem-solving, assessments, special procedures & clinical skill enhancements.
- Coordinates with Nursing Staff resident units & admissions dept. the rapid admission of residents, including obtaining evaluations as indicated.
- Serves as adjunct to staff development coordinator in promoting planned in-services to nursing staff as per master schedule/plan.
- Provides continuity of resident status with hospital supervisory staff, and Nursing Administration.
- Supervises the M.D.R. directing, interacting with residents, families and staff in providing safe, pleasant mealtime and assuring appropriate completion of required records.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program.
- One to three years of nursing experience.
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA).
- RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED).
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
