About the Role
Provide customers with the best selection, exceptional service, and well-organized stores to support spiritual, social, and rehabilitation programs. Accountable for meeting store sales and income budget expectations while managing expenses to maximize profitability. Create a positive and mentoring environment for program participants through collaboration and partnership with program staff. Implement positive and effective Work Therapy Assignments and keep participants on the right track.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Store Manager in daily store operations, including opening/closing, point of sale, inventory management, merchandising, and donations.
- Assume responsibility for day-to-day store operations, including personnel and cash handling, in the absence of the Store and/or Assistant Manager.
- Assist the Store Manager in monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators to drive store sales and increase profitability.
- Schedule store employees to ensure appropriate coverage and coordinate daily team meetings in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager.
- Provide coaching, training, and development to store employees.
- Process paperwork related to Time and Attendance compliance.
- Ensure high levels of customer and donor satisfaction through excellent service and community relations.
- Develop strategies to improve service and maximize the customer experience.
- Support the Store Manager to ensure Back Room Processing/Warehouse Associates work effectively and efficiently to meet daily processing goals.
- Supervise, support, and report on program beneficiaries when Work Therapy Assignments are in place.
- Protect and secure store currency, inventory, and property, including safe funds, bank deposits, products, equipment, and building security in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager.
- Ensure building security during non-operating hours with alarm system arming and alert protocol.
- Establish and maintain safety measures consistent with policy and regulations, and report safety issues and incidents immediately.
- Assist with conducting and recording mandatory Weekly Store Meetings.
- May transfer or be relocated to other stores based on business needs.
- Complete all tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one-year previous retail experience.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Must pass background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, store employees, customers, and donors.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
