About the Role
Provides office support including various clerical activities and outstanding customer service to greet and assist patients.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors by greeting them in person and on the telephone, answering inquiries, or referring questions to appropriate staff.
- Schedule appointments to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and room utilization.
- Obtain patient demographics and verify insurance information at each visit.
- Perform patient check-in and check-out.
- Collect all insurance copays, balances, and uninsured payments at the time of service.
- Maintain individual bank and prepare end-of-day reports for management balancing and sign-off.
- Process payment plan agreements.
- Control patient access beyond the lobby.
- Maintain a neat and orderly waiting room and front desk area.
- Maintain knowledge of all health forms required for each visit and verify storage in EMR.
- Provide positive customer relations with patients, families, providers, healthcare team members, and others.
- Maintain regular and prompt attendance.
- Assist with clinical inboxes as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of customer service experience (preferred).
