About the Role

As assigned, serves as line producer, manages broadcast timing and order, and participates in the creation and development of radio, TV, web, and social media programs. Contributes to production elements, performs technical functions, and ensures VOA standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Serves as line producer and manages the timing and order of stories included in broadcasts.
• Participates in the creation and development of regularly scheduled or special radio and/or TV programs and/or web and social media sections.
• Contributes to production elements of programs and content for broadcast and/or web and social media, including fine editing of taped material.
• Performs technical functions including operation of equipment.
• Contributes to teamwork, facilitating tasks of teammates.
• Meets VOA standards for productivity, quality, and meeting deadlines.
• Serves as videographer/reporter.
• Works independently or as a member of a team.
• Logs and conducts data entry and other functions connected with VOA's digital asset management system.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Fluency in target language (written, spoken) and deep knowledge of the target area.
• Ability to adapt stories into English as assigned, within the time assigned.
• Specialized knowledge including formal education in a field desired by VOA.
• Regularly demonstrating added ability through the performance of duties.
• Must pass a thorough background check.
