About the Role
Writes and produces news and feature content and programming for broadcasts, web, and social media. Adapts and translates content between English and the target language, contributing to teamwork and meeting VOA standards for productivity, quality, and deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Writes and produces news and feature content and programming as assigned for use in broadcasts and web and social media
- Adapts and/or translates content produced in English into native language, as assigned
- Versions content produced in native language into English for distribution, as assigned
- Contributes to teamwork, facilitating tasks of teammates, as needed
- Meets VOA standards for productivity, quality, and meeting deadlines
- Makes suggestions about policy and workflow improvements
- Works independently or as a member of a team
- Other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Fluency in target language (written, spoken) and deep knowledge of the target area
- Ability to adapt stories into English as assigned, within the time assigned
- Specialized knowledge including formal education in a field desired by VOA
- Regularly demonstrating added ability through the performance of duties
- All personal service contractors must pass a thorough background check
