About the Role

The Staff Psychologist/Clinician works as an integral member of the Abbott House interdisciplinary treatment team, providing clinical assessments, consultation, and therapy for children and adolescents.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evaluations of children and adolescents.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents in foster care, group homes, or through the Article-31 clinic.
  • Attend regularly scheduled treatment team meetings for case reviews and treatment planning.
  • Assist social service staff in identifying appropriate educational, developmental, and mental health services.
  • Serve as a liaison with community mental health providers.
  • Attend clinical staff meetings.
  • Attend continuing education seminars.
  • Provides complete documentation of evaluations and treatments according to agency standards.
  • Utilize knowledge of evidence-based practice and complex trauma.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Clinical experience in evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents.
  • Computer skills.
  • Ability to use a computer and learn software programs.
  • Ability to operate a fax, copier, scanner, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English.
  • Ability to write in English using correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk, use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; talk and listen.
  • Frequently required to walk.
  • Occasionally required to keep balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • May frequently lift 0-25 lbs., occasionally lift 25-50 lbs., and rarely lift over 50 lbs.
  • May frequently push/pull 0-25 lbs. of force, occasionally push/pull 26-45 lbs. force, and rarely push/pull over 45 lbs.
  • Required to sit, stand and walk throughout the work day.
  • May occasionally stoop.
  • May occasionally kneel.
  • May occasionally crouch.
