About the Role

Blythedale Children's Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate and provide therapy for medically complex pediatric patients, from birth to 18 years old, with a wide range of diagnoses. The role involves developing and implementing effective treatment plans, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and offering counseling to patients and families to support long-term outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and provide therapy for complex medical children, ages birth to 18 years old, with varied diagnoses.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment programs.
  • Provide counseling to patients and families regarding test results and establish treatment goals.
  • Create accurate documentation and reporting for all patient visits in an electronic medical record system.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings with medical staff and the child’s educational team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of pediatric experience.
  • Familiarity with a variety of speech, feeding, and cognitive disorders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to comply with all regulatory standards.
  • Second language proficiency is desired.
  • Highly flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients safely.
  • Ability to lift, pull, carry, bend, crouch, and balance patients from light to heavyweight.
