About the Role

The Business Development Specialist is an integral part of Latham’s Business Development (BD) team, supporting their assigned market and working closely with the office Business Development team. This role involves building strong relationships with the local BD Manager and collaborating to support partners, counsel, and associates in the assigned office, establishing the specialist as a trusted resource.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, execution, and evaluation of Business Development and Marketing initiatives, and business plans.
• Plan and assist with office event initiatives, cross-selling, and client-targeting initiatives as it relates to local markets.
• Work with various teams such as BD Core, New Business Team, Creative, Events & Sponsorships, Martech, Library & Research, Alumni, Brand & Communications, and the Financial Information Center in the delivery of information on client intelligence, research, pitch information, events, and lawyer materials.
• Assist in monitoring office initiatives with key account clients in the market.
• Act as the go-to resource for office BD needs and support.
• Protect and maintain any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains.

Requirements

• Demonstrate well-developed, professional interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm.
• Display excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Possess the ability to work in a team environment with a customer-service focus.
