About the Role
Helio Health, a leading behavioral healthcare provider in Central NY, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Counselor Aide to join their team. This role is crucial in supporting patients with mental health issues and chemical addictions, offering significant long-term career growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Assists with counseling responsibilities including screening, intake, orientation, referral, counseling, crisis response, patient education, case management, reporting, record keeping, and consultation.
- Participates in assigned administrative and clinical committees.
- Represents the agency to the community.
- Performs quality assurance activities.
- Demonstrates knowledge of addiction/recovery, behavioral health self-help group processes, and counseling principles.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Customer service and/or human services experience preferred.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License, based on service settings.
