About the Role

KLA is seeking a Regional Development Applications Engineer to join its product divisions, which design and manufacture inspection & review equipment for the semiconductor manufacturing industry. This role is crucial for characterizing new systems and features, optimizing customer processes, and supporting sales activities.

Responsibilities

  • Characterize new systems and features, including designing and conducting experiments, collecting data, and publishing results.
  • Optimize product adoption and semiconductor fabrication processes at customer facilities.
  • Gain expertise on KLA equipment and customer semiconductor fabrication processes to solve production problems.
  • Train customers and other applications engineers.
  • Handle and drive the local applications escalation process.
  • Investigate customer technical needs and problems, providing solutions.
  • Conduct final acceptance and demonstrate products.
  • Understand competitive situations, methodology, and performance group analysis.
  • Report technology development and new applications to Marketing.
  • Support pre-sale and post-sale activities.

Requirements

  • Work experience in semiconductor processing or equipment industry preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% on short notice, with trips potentially lasting 4-8 weeks.
  • Good balance between technical skills and people skills is essential for teamwork.
