About the Role

The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is seeking an experienced Attack Monitoring Analyst to join the Global Security Operations team. This role is crucial for identifying and responding to cyber security incidents and enhancing the defensive capabilities of the Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC).

Responsibilities

  • Triage security events and respond to security incidents using playbooks.
  • Operate SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, LogRhythm) for investigations and dashboard development.
  • Utilize playbooks, existing knowledge, and online resources for incident response.
  • Research and collect threat intelligence to improve cyber-attack detection.
  • Develop and improve run books and use cases based on investigations and attack knowledge.
  • Stay updated on current vulnerabilities, attacks, and countermeasures.
  • Identify, respond to, and remediate cyber events from monitoring technologies.

Requirements

  • Preferred experience with operating or administrating a SIEM (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, LogRhythm).
  • Solid understanding of networks, including TCP/IP stack, typical organization architectures, and common protocols abused by malware.
  • Experience in security event analysis, triage, incident handling, and root-cause identification.
  • Understanding of attacker tools, techniques, and procedures, ideally from direct experience.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, either academically or within corporate environments.
  • Ability to work calmly in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.
  • Security industry-specific and core technical accreditations such as OSCP, GIAC, CCNA.
  • Certification demonstrating SIEM operational competence.
  • Proficient with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Java, C#).
