About the Role

BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team, responsible for preparing and displaying bakery goods while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and cleanliness. This role is crucial in ensuring our members have access to fresh, appealing bakery items and a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Proofs and bakes unfinished bakery goods according to product handling information.
• Manages bakery goods inventory by unpacking from freezers and displaying appropriate amounts.
• Maintains cleaning and safety standards within the bakery department.
• Answers member questions and recommends bakery items.
• Takes special orders and handles member calls.
• Gathers products for the next business day's preparation.
• Packages freshly baked goods such as cookies, pastries, muffins, rolls, breads, pies, and cakes.
• Decorates special order and case products.
• Rotates and stores bakery products following food safety and freshness policies.
• Receives, inspects, and stores bakery shipments.
• Ensures product freshness and quality standards, checking for and removing out-of-date items.
• Generates labels and price tickets for bakery goods.
• Cleans and sanitizes bakery equipment, display fixtures, and food surfaces.
• Operates bakery equipment safely and according to procedures.
• Maintains adherence to all club policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting in other departments.
• Ensures regular, predictable, full attendance as an essential function of the job.

Requirements

• Experience working in a bakery or customer service oriented environment preferred.
• Knowledge of bakery products preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT is recognized.
