About the Role

We are launching a new team to build a payments product, offering a greenfield opportunity alongside maintaining and extending existing payment integrations. You will help evolve and ship the system that allows event organizers to get paid through Ticket Tailor, taking ownership of its development. This role requires a product-minded, curious, and strong problem-solver motivated by customer impact.

Responsibilities

  • Build our new payments product while extending existing payment integrations, focusing on secure, well-managed, high-volume work.
  • Stay driven by the impact delivered to event organizers, caring deeply about their experience and iterating based on customer signals.
  • Maintain a high bar for quality, ensuring built work aligns with architectural vision and product principles.
  • Design clean services with strong separation of concerns.
  • Work closely and generously within the team: pairing, unblocking, reviewing, and giving/receiving feedback.
  • Use AI tools creatively and fluently to amplify impact and explore new ways of working.
  • Provide judgment on payment-system design that others can rely on.

Requirements

  • A deep understanding of payment systems, evidenced by work such as building high-scale, secure payment integrations.
  • Awareness of PCI DSS and the requirements for building to that standard.
  • Experience working in a product team alongside Product Managers.
  • A genuine drive to work in an AI-native way, being curious and willing to adapt work methods as tools evolve.
  • Fluency in amplifying personal impact through AI and agentic engineering tools.
  • Experience integrating payment systems into a high-scale SaaS product with Stripe or similar third-party tools (desirable).
  • Experience judging impact through customer feedback signals, knowing what to measure, what 'working' looks like, and how to adjust (desirable).
  • Strong system design skills – ability to design clean, maintainable, extendable services from first principles (desirable).
  • PHP experience is useful, but strong engineers from any modern language ready to learn are welcome.
