About the Role

The Project Coordinator will manage and self-perform Tier 1 construction and renovation projects, focusing on routine campus improvements. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing projects while managing budgets, schedules, quality, and contractor performance. The position offers opportunities to develop project management, technical, customer service, and fiscal skills while enhancing university facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and self-performs Tier 1 construction and renovation projects.
  • Plans, coordinates, and executes routine campus improvement projects.
  • Manages project budgets, schedules, quality, and contractor performance.
  • Obtains contractor estimates and coordinates/oversees work performed by vendors.
  • Ensures projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Participates in meetings with project requestors to establish scope, schedules, priorities, and timelines.
  • Assists in the review and approval of contract plans and specifications for compliance with building codes and project requirements.
  • Attends pre-construction meetings and assists with the review of contract bidding documents.
  • Supports project budget management by researching and providing cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Receives pay requests from contractors and approves for payment.
  • Performs work on projects and assists in monitoring project progress.
  • Ensures procedures and materials comply with specifications.
  • Tracks construction processes using appropriate software.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related field.
  • 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.

Skills

  • Knowledge of construction/renovation processes.
  • Knowledge of building structures and systems.
  • Organization and time management.
  • Customer service and establishing relationships with stakeholders/project requestors.
  • Ability to use software systems for project management.
  • Ability to assist with aspects of project/construction, from establishing the budget to delivering on budget.
