About the Role

The Home Finding Assistant/Youth Care Worker assists the Home Finding Supervisor in recruiting, opening, and maintaining foster homes. This role also involves filling in for Youth Care Workers to ensure proper child-to-staff ratios and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain MAAP training Certification for the Trainer.
  • Run Foster Parent recruitment events.
  • Provide MAAP training to prospective foster parents.
  • Conduct home visits to complete a home study report for home certification.
  • Conduct unannounced quarterly visits to ensure home standards are met.
  • Develop working relationships with all foster parents.
  • Participate in a rotation to provide 24/7 support for foster parents.
  • Understand all ACS foster home certification processes.
  • Document all home finding documents into Connections.
  • Co-Lead monthly Foster Parent Meetings & trainings in accordance with ORR requirements.
  • Open home in ASARA and Connections.
  • Transport foster parents and children to appointments or events.
  • Provide supervision in the classroom as required.
  • Develop foster parent census as needed.
  • Participate in weekly supervision, unit, and departmental meetings.
  • Collect recreation log, medication log, and clothing log weekly for the case manager.
  • Coordinate inter and intra-agency services to clients by working as a team with providers.
  • Establish effective collegial relationships with Lead Case Manager, Senior Case Manager, Lead Clinician, and all supervisors.
  • Make meaningful contributions to agency and department programming.
  • Carry out job responsibilities in a professional manner.
  • Complete all required training.
  • Act as a Mandated Reporter.
  • Participate in individual, group, and department supervision.
  • Perform any other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • HS diploma required.
  • Experience in child welfare/child protective services.
  • Demonstrated ability to reach out and work with community resources and foster parents.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk, use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; talk and listen, and taste or smell.
  • Frequently required to walk.
  • Occasionally required to keep balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to use a computer and learn software programs.
  • Required to operate a fax, copier, scan, and other office equipment.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write fluently in the English language.
  • Must be able to write in the English language using correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.
  • May frequently lift 0-25 lbs.
  • May occasionally lift 25-50 lbs.
  • May rarely lift over 50 lbs.
  • May frequently push/pull 0-25 lbs. of force.
  • May occasionally push/pull 26-45 lbs. force.
  • May rarely push/pull over 45 lbs. force.
  • Required to sit, stand and walk throughout the work day.
  • May occasionally stoop.
  • May occasionally kneel.
  • May occasionally crouch.
