About the Role
Join Nordstrom Rack as a team member in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. You will collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for customers, ensuring a quick and easy experience while keeping the store clean and clutter-free. Flexibility is key as you may support different store areas.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the salesfloor stays 'runway ready' by re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day.
- Assist customers with cashiering transactions across multiple platforms, operating a point-of-sale system.
- Handle bagging of items of all sizes, including bulky and heavy items.
- Ensure a seamless and friendly customer experience.
- Create a smooth fitting room experience by greeting customers, assisting them, and returning clothing to the salesfloor.
- Maintain a clean and clutter-free customer experience by sorting and returning clothing.
- Organize stockrooms and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
- Demonstrate expertise in all store technologies.
- Adhere to all operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards.
- Promote initiatives like the Nordstrom Rewards program.
- Receive, unload freight, unpack, and deliver newly arrived merchandise to selling departments.
- Fulfill customer orders in a timely manner following quality standards.
- Prepare and ship customer orders following quality, packing, and shipping standards.
- Utilize inventory management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments.
- Assist in maintaining clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms.
- Provide general store support, including setting up special events, organizing backrooms, markdowns, and relocating store fixtures.
Requirements
- Clear, effective communication with strong interpersonal skills.
- Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting them above the head.
- Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
- Stock and Fulfillment Only: Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
