About the Role
Manage change projects to help the organization achieve strategic objectives, ensuring timely, within-budget, and compliant delivery according to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Responsibilities
- Manage change projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, budget, and to required quality standards.
- Develop and manage project plans outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Communicate with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners, regarding project progress and needs.
- Manage project teams, ensuring adequate resourcing and necessary skills for objective delivery.
- Manage project budgets to ensure delivery within agreed financial limits.
- Create project progress reports to ensure timely and within-budget delivery of proposed solutions.
- Manage project risks, identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
- Facilitate change management activities, including training and communication, for successful project implementation and embedding.
Requirements
- Substantial change execution experience and strong delivery track record in large-scale, complex change, including technology and data transformation.
- Experience and understanding of both Agile and Waterfall delivery methods.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence and credibility to challenge and influence senior delivery leads and Accountable Executives.
- Experience in change within multiple businesses or functions, or in a cross-business/functional capacity.
- Experience in a breadth of change types (e.g., delivering outcomes impacting technology, data, regulation, business process/operating model).
- Breadth of business/functional knowledge and industry insights.
- Manage a business function, providing significant input to function-wide strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to and influence policy and procedures for the function.
- Plan, manage, and consult on multiple complex and critical strategic projects, potentially business-wide.
- Manage the direction of a large team or sub-function, leading other people managers and embedding a performance culture aligned to business values.
- Lead organization-wide projects and act as a deep technical expert and thought leader, identifying new ways of working and collaborating cross-functionally (for individual contributors).
- Train, guide, and coach less experienced specialists.
- Provide information affecting long-term profits, organizational risks, and strategic decisions.
- Provide expert advice to senior functional management and committees to influence decisions outside own function.
- Manage, coordinate, and enable resourcing, budgeting, and policy creation for a significant sub-function.
- Escalate breaches of policies/procedures appropriately.
- Foster and guide compliance, ensuring regulations are observed and relevant processes are in place.
- Focus on the external environment, regulators, or advocacy groups to monitor and influence on behalf of Barclays.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of how the function integrates with the business division/Group to achieve overall business objectives.
- Maintain broad and comprehensive knowledge of industry theories and practices within own discipline, alongside up-to-date relevant sector/functional knowledge and insight into external market developments/initiatives.
- Use interpretative thinking and advanced analytical skills to solve problems and design solutions in complex/sensitive situations.
- Exercise management authority to make significant decisions and certain strategic decisions or recommendations within own area.
- Negotiate with and influence stakeholders at a senior level, both internally and externally.
- Act as principal contact point for key clients and counterparts in other functions/business divisions.
- Act as a spokesperson for the function and business division.
