About the Role

The Technical Specialist is responsible for setting up and operating audio-visual systems for live events, ensuring client satisfaction and potentially acting as a team leader. This position reports to a Technical Manager, Senior Project Manager, or Technical Events Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Project Management/Producer teams to design and implement sufficient video systems to fulfil the brief of any given event.
  • Assist Labour teams with fulfilling accurate roles with internal and external staff.
  • Ensure all video components are added to technical drawings for events in Vectorworks.
  • Provide accurate documentation for onsite teams.
  • Assist with pre-production for media server/switching workflow.
  • Operate advanced switching systems for large scale events, linking multiple switchers.
  • Plan, design, and install multi blended projection systems.
  • Design and lead complex multi screen LED display builds.
  • Delegate tasks efficiently across large scale projects.
  • Ensure flawless event execution through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of audiovisual equipment.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems quickly.
  • Comply with all company security and safety measures.
  • Report all health and safety issues.
  • Ensure equipment is secure from theft and/or damage.
  • Provide excellent service and strive to exceed customer expectations.
  • Maintain positive client relationships through effective communication.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on event solutions.
  • Foster the hotel/venue/client relationship.
  • Create an atmosphere that fosters the development of technical and leadership skills in other employees.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to technical, sales, and operations team members.
  • Perform advanced work with operations team members.
  • Supervise and direct other technicians during an event.
  • Assist team with proper preparation, security, storage, transportation, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Perform inventory and forecasting of equipment needs.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of field experience in specialty area is required.
  • 3-5 years of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.

Salary/Compensations
