About the Role
The Technical Lead is responsible for planning, setting up, and operating audio-visual systems for live events, ensuring client satisfaction. This role involves team leadership, resource planning, and contributing to departmental improvements, with potential to deputize for the Technical Manager/Group Head.
Responsibilities
- Ensures flawlessly executed events through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of advanced audiovisual equipment.
- Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues quickly.
- Complies with all company security and safety measures.
- Reports all health and safety issues to the appropriate manager.
- Ensures equipment is secure from theft and/or damage.
- Provides excellent customer service, striving to exceed expectations.
- Maintains positive client relationships through effective communication.
- Collaborates with internal teams on event solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Fosters the hotel/venue/client relationship.
- Creates an atmosphere that fosters the development of technical and leadership skills in other employees.
- Provides mentorship and coaching to technical, sales, and operations team members.
- Performs advanced work with operations team members pre, during, and post-event.
- Supervises and directs other technicians during an event.
- Assists team with proper preparation, security, storage, transportation, and maintenance of equipment.
- Performs inventory and forecasting of equipment needs.
- Takes ownership of local/regional department running.
- Assists with training and coaching junior staff members.
- Takes ownership of department-related activities and tasks at a local/regional level.
Requirements
- 4+ years of field AV experience is required.
- 3-5 years of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
- Ability to interact professionally and effectively with a diverse work force, customer base, and senior level management.
- Experience with project management of multiple tasks/initiatives.
- Strong customer, client, and co-worker interface experience and abilities.
