About the Role
This role involves managing event inquiries and bookings, delivering outstanding service, and maximizing revenue opportunities within a busy Meetings & Events Sales team at one of London's largest hotels. It's an opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building client relationships, and managing events from inquiry to successful delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage meetings and events enquiries from initial enquiry through to post-event follow-up.
- Prepare proposals, quotations, contracts, and event documentation.
- Build strong relationships with clients to ensure an exceptional customer experience throughout the booking journey.
- Maximize booking conversions through effective follow-up and proactive sales techniques.
- Identify opportunities to upsell accommodation, catering, and additional services.
- Liaise closely with Operations, Kitchen, Reservations, Finance, and Sales teams to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Produce accurate function sheets and ensure all event details are communicated effectively to operational teams.
- Manage the event diary to maximize revenue and profitability.
- Handle client feedback and resolve issues professionally.
- Support promotional activities, client show rounds, and networking events as required.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure company standards and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Meetings & Events, Conference & Events, Reservations, or Hotel Sales role, ideally within a four or five-star hotel.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience managing event enquiries, quotations, and bookings from initial enquiry through to completion.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- A commercial mindset with confidence in negotiating rates and identifying upselling opportunities.
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues across Operations, Kitchen, Sales, and Reservations.
- Good administrative skills and experience producing event documentation and function sheets.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive, proactive, and solution-focused attitude.
- Confidence working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Opera Sales & Catering or a similar hotel sales system is advantageous.
- Previous experience within a high-volume Meetings & Events venue is desirable.
- Knowledge of the London corporate and events market is desirable.
- Experience working with agency bookings and corporate clients is desirable.
- Understanding of hotel revenue management principles is desirable.
- Knowledge of hotel operations and the planning and delivery of conferences, meetings, weddings, or social events is desirable.
