About the Role
This role is perfect for night-shift workers who want to make a difference. You will make a significant impact on advancing this comprehensive specialty care residence and provide meaningful support to the team at Unity House of Troy's Crisis Residence, a short-term stay facility offering a safe place for stabilization of psychiatric symptoms and person-centered trauma-informed services.
Responsibilities
- Provide staff coverage in a 24/7 staffed transitional residential setting.
- Assist program participants as needs arise with supportive counseling.
- Provide service coordination and medication supervision for program participants.
- Provide crisis intervention/emergency assistance for residence.
- Ensure satisfactory functioning of the facility with light cleaning duties with possible light lifting.
- Must do evening safety routines and check lists.
- Promote an environment of inclusion and belonging.
Requirements
- 1-3 years’ experience working with individuals with serious mental illness or substance use disorders OR Lived experience with emotional, behavioral, addiction, or co-occurring disorders OR as a parent/primary caregiver of a child with emotional, behavioral, addiction, or co-occurring disorders.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be responsible and reliable.
- Strong communication skills.
- Reliable transportation.
- Must be able to work as a team and individually.
- Must be able to work weekend rotation.
- 1–2 years prior experience working with victims of domestic violence or similar vulnerable populations.
- Valid NYS driver’s license required.
