About the Role

The Associate Medical Assistant provides direct patient care and telephone contact, coordinating with the care team to ensure seamless delivery and patient participation. This role assists physicians with clinical procedures, aiming to improve care for millions of patients.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates clinical competence in direct patient care and assisting with procedures.
  • Performs clinical duties within scope of practice, adhering to department standards, policies, and protocols.
  • Proactively addresses individual and family patient needs, communicating them in a timely manner.
  • Directs and escorts patients to exam rooms promptly.
  • Demonstrates clinical competence when assisting healthcare professionals during exams and office procedures.
  • Performs authorized procedures competently, such as vital signs, vision screening, and selected laboratory tests.
  • Seeks validation or guidance from physicians, mid-level professionals, or nurses when necessary.
  • Prepares e-prescriptions for pharmacies as instructed by a physician.
  • Inspects, cleans, prepares, and processes instruments/equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Processes specimens for transport to the laboratory, ensuring proper labeling and order placement in EPIC.

Requirements

  • Up to 2 years of relevant entry-level work experience.

Skills

  • CPR/BLS certification
