About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior/ Principal Digital Designer to join our Buildings services team in Sydney. You will be part of a passionate and diverse team, guiding projects and clients, and leading the delivery of digital ways of working across infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead Building Services digital delivery and BIM coordination on major projects.
- Promote consistent application of BIM standards, templates, families and workflows.
- Support the development and implementation of national BIM standards and procedures.
- Drive technical excellence in digital design, model quality and information management.
- Champion integrated engineering and engineer-led modelling workflows.
- Contribute to the development of computational design and automation initiatives.
- Act as BIM Lead on complex multi-disciplinary Building Services projects including drawing planning and production.
- Develop Digital Delivery Plans, BIM Execution Plans and model governance processes.
- Coordinate federated models and manage multidisciplinary design interfaces.
- Lead model reviews, clash detection workshops and model-based coordination activities.
- Ensure project BIM deliverables meet client and project requirements.
- Support project teams in achieving programme, quality and commercial objectives.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and mentoring to BIM Designers and developing BIM practitioners.
- Assist with capability assessments, development plans and technical coaching.
- Support recruitment and onboarding of BIM staff.
- Foster collaboration across locations and disciplines.
- Participate in the national Buildings BIM network.
- Promote resource sharing and collaboration between offices.
- Support implementation of national BIM initiatives and improvement programs.
- Contribute lessons learnt and innovation outcomes from project delivery.
- Coordinate BIM and digital delivery support from GDS resources.
- Assist project teams in integrating Australian and GDS workflows.
- Promote effective utilisation of GDS as a delivery and engineering support partner.
- Promote the adoption of automation, computational design and emerging digital delivery technologies.
- Support evaluation and implementation of new BIM tools and workflows.
- Contribute to business improvement and productivity initiatives.
Requirements
- Significant experience in Building Services BIM and digital delivery including Revizto.
- Advanced Revit capability across Building Services disciplines.
- Experience coordinating overseas project delivery teams.
- Strong understanding of multidisciplinary BIM coordination.
- Experience leading digital delivery on medium to large projects.
- Knowledge of ISO 19650 information management principles.
- Experience working within cloud-based Common Data Environments including Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated mentoring and leadership capability.
- Experience with Dynamo, scripting, automation or computational design.
- Experience on major infrastructure, aviation, defence, health or complex buildings projects.
- Advanced Revit modelling and content management.
- Understanding of model federation and clash detection processes.
- Knowledge of model auditing, QA and governance.
- Capability in BIM execution planning and digital delivery management.
- Familiarity with interoperability workflows and common industry data standards.
- Understanding of digital engineering, information management and computational design principles.
