About the Role
Arc Herkimer is seeking a dedicated and proactive Quality Assurance Specialist / Safety Officer to ensure excellence across programs and facilities, empowering people with disabilities and enriching lives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct audits, reviews, and assessments to ensure compliance and quality standards.
- Assist with HIPAA privacy and security compliance.
- Support agency-wide quality improvement initiatives.
- Conduct investigations and reviews.
- Interpret regulations and help departments develop effective compliance processes.
- Provide training and guidance on quality and compliance.
- Strengthen systems supporting services for individuals.
- Lead and coordinate the agency-wide safety program.
- Chair the Safety Committee and promote a culture of safety.
- Conduct and oversee safety inspections.
- Track, analyze, and report safety data and trends.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, OPWDD, and other applicable regulations.
- Coordinate safety training programs.
- Oversee safety equipment inspections and maintenance.
- Assist with emergency preparedness, disaster planning, and workplace safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Human Services or related field and three (3) years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field and one (1) year of relevant experience.
- High School Diploma/GED and five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Workplace safety experience required.
- Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, OPWDD regulations, and compliance standards preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret regulations and implement practical solutions.
- Experience conducting audits, inspections, investigations, or reviews.
- Agency-approvable driver's license required.
