About the Role

Responsible for preparing diagnostic assessments, conducting group counseling, staff training, and program enrichment. Provides clinical guidance to Case Managers and Youth Specialists, and offers expert support in treatment team meetings regarding mental health and behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide individual and group counseling services to address youth’s behaviors, concerns, and progress.
• Oversee and execute all therapeutic requirements for the program.
• Attend staffing and present knowledgeable information on assigned cases.
• Check in with assigned children twice daily.
• Perform crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary.
• Perform initial intake and assessment for safety and trafficking concerns within 48 hours of child’s arrival.
• Utilize positive child management techniques including verbal redirection, de-escalations, and physical containment.
• Reinforce positive behavior by providing healthy, positive incentives for children while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Provide weekly individual counseling to youth and ongoing individual and crisis intervention.
• Gather and document social, medical, and educational information on each child in a timely manner.
• Complete all ORR assessments in the portal on a timely basis.
• Accompany children to outside service providers when necessary.
• Maintain clinical records and progress notes and submit monthly updates.
• Participate in weekly treatment team meetings to provide mental health and educational updates.
• Provide on-call clinical support as necessary.
• Attend and complete all mandated ORR & Abbott House training on a timely basis.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Must be able to use a computer and learn software programs.
• Must be able to operate a fax, copier, scan, and other office equipment.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write fluently in English.
• Must be able to write in English using correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
• May frequently lift 0-25 lbs., occasionally lift 25-50 lbs., and rarely lift over 50 lbs.
• May frequently push/pull 0-25 lbs. of force, occasionally push/pull 26-45 lbs. force, and rarely push/pull over 45 lbs.
• Will be required to sit, stand, and walk throughout the work day.
• May occasionally stoop.
• May occasionally kneel.
• May occasionally crouch.
• Minimum 5 years clinical experience in child welfare.
• Knowledge of child welfare/child protective services.
• Experience with Evidence-Based Models.
• Strong interest in working with children and families of diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Strong clinical, communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to facilitate training.
• Proficiency in Spanish and English both written and oral required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
