About the Role

Responsible for preparing diagnostic assessments, conducting group counseling, providing staff training, and enriching programs. This role offers clinical guidance to Case Managers and Youth Specialists, and provides expert support in treatment team meetings regarding mental health and behavior management for program youth.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide individual and group counseling services to address youth’s behaviors, concerns, and progress.
• Oversee and execute all therapeutic requirements for the program.
• Attend staffing and present knowledgeable information on assigned cases.
• Check in with assigned children twice daily.
• Perform crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary.
• Conduct initial intake and assessment for safety and trafficking concerns within 48 hours of child’s arrival.
• Utilize positive child management techniques, including verbal redirection, de-escalations, and physical containment.
• Reinforce positive behavior by providing healthy incentives while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Provide weekly individual counseling and ongoing crisis intervention.
• Gather and document social, medical, and educational information on each child.
• Complete all ORR assessments in the portal.
• Accompany children to outside service providers.
• Maintain clinical records and progress notes, submitting monthly updates.
• Participate in weekly treatment team meetings to provide mental health and educational updates.
• Provide on-call clinical support as necessary.
• Attend and complete all mandated ORR & Abbott House training.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Must be able to use a computer and learn software programs.
• Must be able to operate a fax, copier, scan, and other office equipment.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write fluently in English.
• Must be able to write in English using correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
• May frequently lift 0-25 lbs.
• May occasionally lift 25-50 lbs.
• May rarely lift over 50 lbs.
• May frequently push/pull 0-25 lbs. of force.
• May occasionally push/pull 26-45 lbs. force.
