About the Role

Responsible for preparing diagnostic assessments, conducting group counseling, training staff, and enriching programs. Provides clinical guidance to Case Managers and Socio therapist staff, and offers expert support in treatment team meetings regarding mental health and behavior management for program youth.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide individual and group counseling services to address youth behaviors, concerns, and progress.
• Oversee and execute all therapeutic requirements for the program.
• Perform crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary.
• Conduct initial intake and assessment for safety and trafficking concerns within 48 hours of child’s arrival.
• Utilize positive child management techniques, including verbal redirection, de-escalation, and physical containment.
• Reinforce positive behavior by providing healthy incentives while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Provide weekly individual counseling and ongoing crisis intervention.
• Gather and document necessary social, medical, and educational information on each child.
• Maintain clinical records and progress notes, submitting monthly updates.
• Participate in weekly treatment team meetings to provide mental health and educational updates.
• Perform duties related to standing, walking, using hands and fingers, reaching, talking, and listening.
• Operate computer and learn software programs.
• Operate office equipment such as fax, copier, and scanner.
• Communicate fluently in English, both written and oral.
• Write using correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
• Lift 0-25 lbs. frequently, 25-50 lbs. occasionally, and over 50 lbs. rarely.
• Push/pull 0-25 lbs. of force frequently, 26-45 lbs. occasionally, and over 45 lbs. rarely.
• Sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
• Stoop occasionally.

Requirements

• Master Level - LMSW, LMHC
• Minimum 5 years clinical experience in child welfare.
• Knowledge of child welfare/child protective services.
• Experience with Evidence-Based Models.
• Strong interest in working with children and families of diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Strong clinical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to facilitate trainings.
• Proficiency in Spanish and English, both written and oral.
• Valid Mental Health Provider License required.
