Seeking a piano teacher to build foundational piano and music theory skills for a 12-year-old singer, with lessons tailored to her aspirations of writing her own songs. The ideal candidate will act as both an instructor and a creative collaborator, with a passion for jazz.
Responsibilities
- Teach piano basics, music theory, and sight-reading in a fun, creative, and engaging manner.
- Connect lessons to singing interests by teaching accompaniments to pop, jazz, and Broadway songs.
- Introduce basic chord progressions and songwriting concepts.
- Instill enthusiasm for new songs and genres (jazz, Broadway, pop).
- Play pieces for students to inspire and model excellent musicianship.
- Teach a short, age-appropriate lesson to an 8-year-old brother following the primary student's session.
